Opening Reception and Exhibit: Winter Wonderland – Almost Black and White
Sunday, February 5, 2017 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
The Flick Gallery at the Arts Center of Yates County is pleased to present Winter Wonderland: Almost Black and White, featuring artists Ron Netsky and Jamie Sisson, with a public opening on Sunday, February 5, from 3:00 to 5:00PM and running through March 4.
Not only do Ron Netsky and Jamie Sisson create work with a limited palette, they are also heavily inspired by the natural environment.
Ron Netsky is a printmaker who creates exquisite etchings and lithographs of the natural environment, gravitating toward interplay between organization and chaos. Ron currently teaches printmaking at Nazareth College in Rochester, New York and at Woodstock School of Art. His prints are included in the collections of the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art at SUNY New Paltz as well as other collections.
Penn Yan native Jamie Sisson has spent decades erecting large commercial buildings and gaining exposure to all aspects of construction. In 2011 he began experimenting with concrete in various applications. Jamie’s work has included designing, creating and installing custom concrete countertops as well as creating smaller products such as wall hangings, tables, bowls and other items. His work is evocative of the natural materials in which he works, creating truly one of a kind pieces, many of which are on display at Steamboat Castle Bed and Breakfast, which Jamie co-owns with his partner Ginny Turner.
The Arts Center of Yates County is located at 127 Main Street in Penn Yan. The reception is free to the public. Please call 315-536-8226 or email email@example.com for additional information.
