South Seneca Falcon Players and Music Boosters sponsor ‘The Duke’s Ball’
Saturday, January 13 @ 5:30 pm - 10:30 pm
The South Seneca Falcon Players and the South Seneca Falcon Music Boosters have created a new scholarship to honor the memory and legacy of long time music teacher and community member Robert “Duke” Gerlach. The group has created a new and unique way to raise money to support this scholarship as well.
The Inaugural Duke’s Ball- An Elegant Evening of Dinner and Dancing will be held on
January 13, 2018 at the South Seneca HS Gymnasium- 7263 South Main St., Ovid, NY.
The doors will open at 5:30pm with the buffet dinner starting at 6:00pm. The Dinner Hour will feature entertainment by South Seneca students, staff and alumni. Following dinner there will be dancing from 7-9:30pm featuring the music of the Finger Lakes regional big band-
For Dancer’s Only- The Big Swingin’ Band! In fact this big band was originally created by Duke over 40 years ago and was originally called the Duke Gerlach Big Band!
“Duke was such an involved and beloved man in our community, we wanted to honor his life with what we hope will become an annual event.” said Tina Coville-Bauder, the evening’s principal organizer. “Duke cared deeply about the youth of our community and fostering their love of the Arts. So an evening that features the talents of the South Seneca School Community as well as Big Band music by a group he founded seems a perfect way to begin a scholarship in his memory that will support aspiring musicians and actors. We hope people will join us for a fun evening with great food, entertainment, and dancing.”
Tickets for The Duke’s Ball are on sale now! Tickets are $30 per ticket Or $200 for a Table of Eight and can be ordered by contacting Tina Bauder at: 607-869-9819 (leave message & Contact Info.); calling or texting – 315-651-0044 or by emailing email@example.com.
