Trail Works National Trails Day Event Promotes National CMV Awareness June 5
June 5 @ 1:00 PM - 3:00 PMFree
Join us on Sat, June 5, (1 pm) at the Trail of Hope in Lyons, NY, as Trail Works National Trails Day Event Promotes National CMV Awareness. In an effort to educate the public about another “C-virus” plaguing the country, cytomegalovirus (CMV), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) celebrates June as National CMV Awareness Month. Trail Works of Wayne County wants to help the CDC prevent birth defects by promoting CMV awareness at its Trail of Hope in Lyons. The public is invited to a special recognition of the benefits of an accessibility trail at the Trail of Hope located at the Lyons Community Center, 9 Manhattan St, Lyons. After touring the 1/4-mile long trail, which includes a yellow brick road and over 10,000 flowers, a ceremony at the Ribbon of Hope rock area will include a public reading of ‘Declaration of Women’s CMV Rights and Sentiments,’ followed by the placement of 226 rocks painted silver to honor the number of newborns disabled by congenital CMV in New York each year. Please plan to join us for this inspiring event. Park in the Lyons Community Center parking lot where you will see the entrance to the Trail of Hope and gardens.
