Vintage postcards tell the story of suffrage: Book signing in Seneca Falls on first day of Suffrage Centennial Year, August 26
Monday, August 26 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pmFree
Seneca Falls Historical Society, 55 Cayuga St. will host a book signing for the newly released book, Vintage Tweets: Suffrage Era Postcards, with the author Carol Crossed on the opening day of the Suffrage Centennial, Monday, August 26, 2019, 6 to 7 p.m.
Using an assortment of over 400 vintage postcards, Crossed, a resident of Rochester, NY, tells the story of 19th and early 20th century women’s fight for the right to vote.
A human rights and peace activist, Crossed began collecting vintage postcards of historic scenes in the 1980s. Years later, in the early 2000s, Crossed purchased and restored the birthplace of Susan B. Anthony in Adams, Mass., as a house museum. It was at this time that she began her collection of vintage suffrage postcards.
